Amarillo, Texas (June 23, 2019) – A 34-year-old man was critically injured on Saturday in a motorcycle accident in Amarillo, according to the police.
The accident occurred on Saturday, June 22, on IH-40 at I-27.
Police said the man was riding a 2007 Suzuki 1300 motorcycle northbound on I-27 and was entering IH-40 westbound when he lost control of his bike, crossed into the next lane, and struck the rear bumper of a large box trailer being pulled by a semi-tractor.
The man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash temporarily closed part of IH-40.
Officers said speed was a likely factor in the crash.
The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is conducting the investigation.
