Miguel Camarillo Killed in Channelview 18-Wheeler Crash at Bayou Drive and East Freeway

Channelview, Texas (September 20, 2021) – A man was killed early Saturday morning in an 18-wheeler crash in Channelview, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal crash happened around 3:20 a.m., September 18, at the intersection of Bayou Drive and East Freeway service road.

Deputies said a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the East Freeway service road while an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on Bayou Drive.

The pickup truck failed to stop at the intersection and T-boned the 18-wheeler.

The pickup truck driver, Miguel Camarillo, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 18-wheeler driver was uninjured in the crash.

Investigators said speed was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
