Misty Dorries Killed in Andrews Two-Vehicle Crash at US 385 and SE County Road 1500

Andrews, Texas (December 21, 2022) – One person was killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Andrews, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 5:00 p.m., December 19, at the intersection of US 385 and SE County Road 1500.

Authorities said a 2021 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on US 385 while a 2004 Buick LeSabre was traveling westbound on SE 1500.

The LeSabre attempted to cross both southbound lanes of US 385 and failed to yield the right of way to the F-150, and struck the passenger side. 

37-year-old Misty Dawn Dorries of Andrews, who was a passenger in the LeSabre, was taken to Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, where she later died. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The LeSabre driver was taken to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition. The Ford driver was taken to Permian Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
