Five Students Injured in School Bus Crash on Highway 6 in Fort Bend County

5 Students Injured in Fort Bend County School Bus Crash on Highway 6 at S. Post Oak

Fort Bend County, Texas (January 16, 2020) – Five Fort Bend ISD students were injured in a school bus crash Thursday morning in Fort Bend County, according to officials.

The crash took place around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 6 at the intersection of S. Post Oak.

Deputies said a driver ran a red light and crashed into a school bus at the intersection.

The car driver said she was distracted by something in her eye and did not see the red light.

There were 52 people on the bus at the time of the crash. 

Five students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
