Man Hospitalized after Whitewright Motorcycle Accident on FM 697
Whitewright, Texas (March 26, 2019) – A motorcyclist was injured Monday afternoon in a traffic accident on a Whitewright highway, according to the DPS.
The crash happened a while before 2:00 p.m. March 25, on FM 697.
DPS said a westbound Jeep had stopped at a mailbox along the highway and then started to make a left turn onto a private driveway. A man who was riding a motorcycle westbound tried to pass the SUV in a marked no-passing zone and hit the left rear panel of the SUV.
The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
No one on the Jeep was injured.
FM 697 was closed for about an hour following the crash.
The troopers are investigating the crash.
