Nathan Pickens ID’d as Driver Injured in Cactus Crash on U.S. Highway 287 at Trails End Road

Cactus, Texas (July 3, 2022) – Nathan Pickens, 49, has been identified as the driver who was injured following a two-vehicle collision that happened last month in Cactus.

The crash occurred at about 3:10 p.m. on June 16 on U.S. Highway 287 at Trails End Road.

Pickens was driving a Chevy S10 pickup truck northbound on U.S. Highway 287 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Trails End Road from the highway. For an unknown reason, the Chevy entered the path of a southbound Ford F-350 pickup truck hauling a trailer.

Both pickup trucks ultimately collided. After the impact, the Chevy flipped onto its side while the Ford’s trailer became detached.

Pickens sustained serious injuries in the crash. The driver of the Ford was not injured.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
