Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at FM 1960 and Greenwood Forest Drive in Harris County

Harris County, Texas – According to the deputies, a motorcyclist was killed Tuesday evening in a crash in northwest Harris County.

The fatal crash happened just before 7:00 p.m., April 16, at the intersection of FM 1960 W. and Greenwood Forest Drive.

Deputies said a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed while a Toyota Rav4 was also traveling westbound and attempted to get into the left turn lane at the intersection.

The motorcycle tried to pass the Rav4 to the left, but ended up clipping the vehicle, causing it to go over the raised concrete median.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle, which continued to head westbound in the eastbound lane and was eventually struck by two vehicles.

The motorcyclist was then run over by a white SUV as he was laying in the eastbound lane. He was killed in the crash. He was not impaired at the time of the crash. His name has not been released.

All involved drivers stayed at the scene and were not impaired.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
