Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in Hit-And-Run Crash on Manchaca Road in Austin, July 11

Rider Seriously Injured in Austin Motorcycle Accident on Manchaca Road

Austin, Texas (July 14, 2019) – A motorcycle rider was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Thursday morning in Austin, according to a police report.

The incident took place at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, July 11, in the 10700 block of Manchaca Road.

Police said a gray Ford Mustang collided with the motorcycle rider and the Ford driver left the scene.

The rider was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

Police later located the vehicle parked in the 2110 block of West Slaughter Lane. The driver was also located and taken into custody.

Police said the car driver is charged with evading arrest and failure to stop and render aid. He was also suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The incident is under investigation.
