Nayan Bkakta Killed in Live Oak County Two-Vehicle Crash on IH 37 near Three Rivers

Live Oak County, Texas (February 23, 2022) – A Houston man was killed Monday night in a two-vehicle crash in Live Oak County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened just after 11:00 p.m., February 21, on Interstate 37, about three miles southwest of Three Rivers.

DPS said an SUV was traveling northbound on the highway when it hit the trailer of a northbound semi-truck.

The impact caused the SUV to veer off the roadway into a field. The SUV driver, Nayan Bkakta, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said alcohol was a possible factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
