Neftaly Soto Killed in Duval County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 44

Duval County, Texas (March 28, 2023) – One person was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Duval County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:11 a.m., March 27, on State Highway 44.

DPS said a Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling westbound on the highway when it veered off into the eastbound travel lane and crashed head-on into an eastbound Ford F-150.

The Ford driver, Neftaly Soto, 25, of Laredo, was killed in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
