Noah Leyman Killed and Jurnee Scott Injured in Potter County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 287

Potter County, Texas (June 6, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Potter County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 2:55 a.m., June 4, on US 287, approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Amarillo.

DPS said a 2018 Freightliner Truck tractor, towing a semi-trailer, was traveling southeast in the northbound lane when it struck a 2022 Hyundai Sonata, which was traveling northwest.

The Hyundai driver, Noah Leyman, 22, of Newton, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Hyundai, Jurnee Scott, 22, of Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, was airlifted to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were both wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The semi-truck driver, Firdavs Kubaev, 33, of Mason, Ohio, and passenger, Ergash Annakulov, 38, of South Lebanon, Ohio, were uninjured in the crash.

The Texas Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the crash.
