Noemi Calderon Killed in Car Crash on Highway 290 near Manor

Noemi Calderon Killed in Manor Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290 at FM 973

Manor, Texas (November 11, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning near Manor, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 1:40 a.m., at the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 973.

Police said a white four-door vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway when it was rear-ended by a Ford F-350.

A passenger in the four-door vehicle, Noemi Calderon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the four-door vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ford driver, Candelario Flores, fled the scene on foot and was arrested by officers on charges of murder, due to causing the death of another person while committing a felony – alleged to have been driving while intoxicated with two or more previous convictions, which is a 3rd-degree felony – and evading with previous convictions. He was booked into Travis County Jail.

The police are investigating the crash.
