Police Officer Injured in San Antonio Car Crash on Loop 410 near Harry Wurzbach
San Antonio, Texas (April 15, 2019) – A police officer was injured on Monday in a chain reaction crash in San Antonio, according to a local news source.
The crash happened at an unspecified time on Monday, on Loop 410 near Harry Wurzbach.
Officials said the SAPD officer was writing a traffic ticket on Loop 410 when a driver pulled off to the left shoulder rather than to the right when he was pulled over by the officer.
The car hit the officer pinning him against a concrete lane divider. The accident caused a chain reaction crash involving several other vehicles.
The officer was taken to the hospital with multiple broken bones.
The highway from Starcrest to Harry Wurzbach was closed for several hours following the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
