Officer Injured in Midland Four-Vehicle Crash at Big Spring Street and Louisiana Avenue

Midland, Texas (November 4, 2020) – A Midland police officer was injured in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday night in Midland, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 9:31 p.m., November 1, at the intersection of Big Spring Street and Louisiana Avenue.

Police said the officer was traveling westbound on Louisiana when she entered the intersection and was hit by a truck driven by a 16-year-old boy. The truck also hit two other stopped vehicles.

The boy had reportedly run a red light at the intersection.

The officer had to be extricated and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She has since been released.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Officers said charges are pending an investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
