Officer Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on West Loop

Houston, Texas (March 18, 2022) – An officer was injured early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened around 1:40 a.m., on 610 (Loop 410).

Police said a vehicle was blocking a moving lane of traffic, and an HPD unit pulled up behind the vehicle and put its lights on.

A Honda Acura HDX driven by a 17-year-old came over the overpass and rear-ended the patrol vehicle.

The officer was taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Honda driver was evaluated and showed no signs of intoxication. They were issued a citation.

An investigation is underway.
