Police Officer Injured in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 71 near Austin Airport

Austin, Texas (December 3, 2023) – An Austin police officer was injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Austin, according to the police.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m., on SH 71 near the Austin airport.

Police said the crash involved an APD police car and another vehicle with a suspected intoxicated driver.

The officer was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The other driver was taken into custody.

The crash remains under investigation.
