Daniel Summers and Devon Andre Martin ID’d as 2 of 4 Injured in Port Arthur Crash at Texas 87 and Austin Street
Port Arthur, Texas (July 6, 2019) – Daniel Summers, 35, of Port Arthur, and Devon Andre Martin, 31, of Houston, have been identified as two of the four people who were injured early Friday morning in Port Arthur.
The crash happened at about 1:00 a.m. Friday, July 5 at the intersection of Texas 87 and Austin Street.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the PAPD officer’s patrol unit was reportedly stopped at a traffic light at the intersection when it was hit from behind by a 1997 Pontiac passenger vehicle driven by Martin.
The officer, now identified as Summers sustained non-life threatening injuries was taken to a nearby hospital.
Martin and his two passengers, ages 10 and 11, were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with major injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
