Police Officer Injured in Marshall Two-Vehicle Crash on Grand Avenue; Jessie Turlington Arrested

Marshall, Texas (June 1, 2022) – A police officer was injured on May 24 in a hit-and-run crash in Marshall, according to the police.

The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m., on E. Grand Avenue.

Police said 42-year-old Jessie Turlington was driving a black sedan when he struck a police cruiser and pushed it off the road.

Turlington fled the scene after the crash.

The officer was taken to Marshall Christus Medical Center for treatment and is expected to recover.

Turlington was arrested on Friday, May 27, and was booked into the Harrison Couty Jail on charges of causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle and an accident involving injury.

The police are investigating the crash.
