Officer Landon Simmons Injured in Texarkana Two-Vehicle Crash on South Lake Drive; Brian Owens Arrested

Texarkana, Texas (September 29, 2021) – A police officer was injured Tuesday night in a DUI crash in Texarkana, according to the police.

The crash happened on September 28, on South Lake Drive near W 4th Street.

Police said Officer Landon Simmons was trying to turn onto South Lake Drive when a speeding northbound Chrysler Pacifica driven by Brian Owens, 31, crashed into his patrol vehicle.

Officer Simmons was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Owens was arrested for DWI and booked into the Bi-State Jail after being checked out at the hospital.

The police are investigating the crash.
