Officer Michael Baley Struck by Vehicle on I-30 in Royse City

Officer Michael Baley Injured in Royse City Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 30

Royse City, Texas (April 11, 2021) – A Royse City police officer was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in Royse City, according to police.

The accident occurred just before 10:00 a.m., April 10, in the westbound lanes on Interstate 30.

Police said officer Michael Baley was helping a stranded motorist and was outside of his vehicle, in the grassy median, when a vehicle left the roadway and hit him.

Baley was taken to a Dallas hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated and released.

Officers said driver inattention and speed were possible factors in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
