40-Year-Old Kountze Woman Killed in Beaumont Two-Vehicle Crash on I-10 near Purple Heart Memorial Bridge

Beaumont, Texas (July 16, 2021) – A 40-year-old Kountze woman was killed Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash near downtown Beaumont, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:19 p.m., July 15, on Interstate 10 near the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge.

DPS said a woman was driving a Chevy Impala when she failed to control her speed and rear-ended an 18-wheeler.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The 18-wheeler driver was uninjured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
