1 Dead in DUI Crash on FM 969 in East Austin

One Killed in East Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 969

Austin, Texas (February 22, 2020) –One person was killed in a suspected DUI crash Saturday morning in East Austin, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:15 a.m. in the 7900 block of FM 969, near U.S. 183 and the Travis County Expo Center.

Police said a drunk driver was speeding on the highway when they hit another car that was turning.

The driver of the car that was hit was declared dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.

The drunk driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash closed FM 969 from Sendero Hills to Decker Lane.

The police are investigating the crash.
