Officer Travis Gossett Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident at Highway 281 and Brook Hollow

San Antonio, Texas (February 15, 2021) – A San Antonio police officer was critically injured early Sunday morning after being struck by a car in San Antonio’s North Side, according to police.

The accident happened around 4:00 a.m., February 14, in the area of Highway 281 and Brook Hollow.

Police said Officer Travis Gossett was directing traffic and was wearing a reflective vest while investigating a crash when he was struck by a car.

Gossett, a 2-year-old veteran with the police department, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver who hit Gossett was cited for having no insurance and driving with an invalid license.

Officers said icy road conditions and failure to control speed were factors in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
