One Injured Crash Involving 18-Wheeler on US Military Highway 281 in Brownsville

1 Injured in Brownsville Two-Vehicle Crash on US Military Highway 281

Brownsville, Texas (January 29, 2020) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler Monday morning in Brownsville, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. January 27, on 281 Military Highway east of Iglesia Antigua Road.

DPS said a tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound behind a passenger vehicle on the highway.

A silver Impala tried to turn left turn onto a road and was hit by the big rig.

The Impala driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the big rig was uninjured in the crash.

The crash closed the highway between FM 2556 and FM 506. The highway was later reopened.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
