One Killed in Head-On Crash on SH 66 in Hunt County

1 Killed in Hunt County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 66 near FM 157

Hunt County, Texas (August 29, 2020) – One person was killed Thursday evening in a head-on collision in Hunt County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash occurred at about 6:47 p.m., August 27, on State Highway 66, just north of FM 1570.

According to a preliminary investigation, a white Ford Explorer was traveling southwest on the highway while a Freightliner truck tractor was traveling northwest.

The Ford driver veered into the northwest lane, for unknown reasons, and crashed head-on into the Freightliner.

The Ford driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
