One Killed, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Parmer Lane at Dessau Road in Northeast Austin

Man Killed and 2 Injured in Northeast Austin Two-Vehicle Crash at Parmer Lane and Dessau Road

Austin, Texas (September 28, 2019) – A man was killed and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Northeast Austin, according to the police.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. September 27, at the intersection of East Parmer Lane and Dessau Road.

Police said an officer tried to make a traffic stop but the driver didn’t stop and the officer began to pursue the driver. A supervisor monitoring the chase called for the officer to stop the pursuit.

The driver, who was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck at a high rate of speed, on Parmer Lane ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a Hyundai which was southbound on Dessau Road.

The suspect was declared dead at the scene. Two occupants in the Hyundai were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
