Patrick Leonard Ervin Killed in Car Accident on I-35 in South Austin

Patrick Leonard Ervin ID’d as Driver Killed in South Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35
South Austin, Texas (May 16, 2019) – The driver who was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in South Austin has been identified as 52-year-old Patrick Leonard Ervin, according to the police.
The fatal crash occurred at about 11:35 p.m. May 12, in the 12100 block of North Interstate 35 northbound service road.
Police said a tan Hyundai Elantra and a white Toyota Camry were heading northbound on the interstate when Camry driver attempted to pass the Elantra, causing the Camry driver to lose control of the car. Both cars then went off the roadway and the Elantra hit a tree before coming to rest.
Ervin, who was driving the Elantra, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Camry driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
