Pedestrian Killed in DUI Crash on Cedar Springs Road in Uptown Dallas; Swinetta Marsh Arrested

One Killed in Uptown Dallas Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Cedar Springs Road near Routh Street; Swinetta Marsh Arrested

Dallas, Texas (February 17, 2020) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver Sunday evening in Uptown Dallas, according to the police.

The accident happened around 5:00 p.m., February 16, on Cedar Springs near Routh Street.

Police said Swinetta Marsh, 42, was driving a Polaris Slingshot XL when she hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street in a crosswalk.

The victim was taken to Parkland Hospital, where they were declared dead.

Marsh fled the scene before being involved in a separate crash at the intersection of Cedar Springs Road and Maple Avenue.

Marsh was then arrested. She is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge. 

Officers said Marsh was under the influence of alcohol and speeding at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
