Ryan Sihab Islam Killed in Carrollton Two-Vehicle Crash on North Josey Lane; Joe Christopher Gomez Arrested

Carrollton, Texas (August 27, 2020) – A teenager was killed last week in a two-vehicle crash in Carrollton, according to police.

The deadly crash occurred around 1:20 p.m., on Tuesday, August 18, in the 2700 block of North Josey Lane.

Police said Joe Christopher Gomez, 18, was driving northbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a Honda Civic that was turning into the Trinity Valley Shopping Center.

A passenger in the Civic, 17-year-old Ryan Sihab Islam, was taken to the hospital where he died four days later.

The Civic driver, Islam’s mother, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Gomez has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
