5 Killed in Car Crash on SH 288 in Pearland

Five Killed in Pearland Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 288 near Sam Houston Tollway

Pearland, Texas (October 16, 2022) – Five people were killed, and several others were injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Pearland, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:28 p.m., October 15, on the SH 288 southbound frontage road near the Sam Houston Tollway.

Police said a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck another car, causing it to roll over and eject four of the five people inside. 

Three of the four ejected people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The fourth ejected person and both drivers and two passengers in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. The driver of the first vehicle and one other person later died at the hospital.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

The police are investigating the crash.
