Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on SH 71 in Travis County

One Killed in Travis County Hit-and-Run Crash on State Highway 71 near Paleface Ranch Road

Travis County, Texas – A pedestrian was killed on Christmas night in a hit-and-run accident in western Travis County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 11:51 p.m., December 25, on State Highway 71 westbound near the intersection of Paleface Ranch Road.

DPS said a male pedestrian was possibly hit by a 1994 to 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.

The driver fled the scene after the accident.

The pedestrian was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

The DPS is investigating the crash. Anyone, including automotive body shop owners and workers, who have any information is asked to call the agency at (512) 424-7391.
