Austin, Texas (July 28, 2022) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a CapMetro train in north Austin on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the 9000 block of Research Boulevard.

Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, the pedestrian later succumbed to their injuries.

No other details were available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
