Woman Killed in Elmo Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 80 near FM 2728

Elmo, Texas (August 23, 2020) – A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday night in Elmo, according to police.

The deadly accident occurred around 8:32 p.m., August 21, on U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market 2728.

DPS said the woman was attempting to cross the highway when she was struck by an eastbound Dodge Ram 4500.

The Dodge driver attempted to swerve to miss the woman but was unable to avoid the collision.

The woman was killed in the accident. Her name has not been released.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
