Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 249 in Harris County

Man Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 249 between NW Park Drive and N. Houston Rosslyn Road

Harris County, Texas (June 25, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in Harris County, authorities said.

The deadly accident occurred just before 3:30 a.m. on the southeast/inbound lanes of Highway 249 between NW Park Drive and N. Houston Rosslyn Road.

According to the authorities, the man was crossing the freeway when he was hit by a Hyundai Sonata that was heading southeast on the highway.

The man believed to be in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The driver, a man in his early 20s, stopped at a nearby gas station and returned to the scene of the accident. He cooperated with investigators and told authorities he was on his way home from his job at Whataburger.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
