62-Year-Old Man Killed in Truck Crash on South Loop West in Houston

62-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on South Loop West

Houston, Texas (February 19, 2022) – A 62-year-old man was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:35 a.m., February 18, in the 4100 block of South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West).

Police said the man was driving a white Ford Transit van eastbound on the highway when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck a trailer that was being pulled by a blue Peterbilt tractor. The driver of the tractor-trailer pulled to the shoulder and came to a stop. The van pulled behind the trailer and struck it a second time before coming to a stop on the shoulder.

The van driver was found unconscious and was taken to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. It is believed he might have suffered a medical episode before the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
