One Killed in Austin Train-Pedestrian Accident near 41st Street and Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (October 7, 2022) – A person was fatally hit by a CapMetro train Thursday evening in east Austin, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 p.m., October 6, near the intersection of 41st Street and Interstate 35, on the service road southbound.

Authorities said the pedestrian was in the right of way of the MetroRail train when they were struck by the train.

The victim was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

No other details were provided.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
