Pregnant Woman, Unborn Child Killed in Head-On Crash on New Mexico State Road 136 in El Paso

Pregnant Woman and Unborn Child Killed, 1 Injured in El Paso Car Accident on New Mexico State Road 136
El Paso, Texas (February 7, 2019) – A pregnant woman and her unborn baby were killed last week Thursday evening in a head-on collision near Santa Teresa, according to a local news source.
The horrible crash occurred at an unspecified time Thursday, January 31 on New Mexico State Road 136 near milepost 9.
Police said a 2009 Toyota driven by the woman, was traveling on New Mexico State Road 136 when it crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle driven by a 20-year-old of El Paso.
The woman was airlifted to an El Paso hospital, where she and her unborn baby died the following afternoon. She was about 35 weeks pregnant.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities said seatbelts were not appropriately used, and alcohol was not considered a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
