Radaysha Jackson, Reilly Brown and Omorian Lewis Critically Injured in Lufkin Crash on South First Street

Lufkin, Texas (December 21, 2022) – Radaysha Jackson, 18, of Kirbyville, Reilly Brown, 19, of Carthage, and Omorian Lewis, 17, of Jasper, were critically injured after they were involved in a deadly crash early Saturday morning in Lufkin.

The wreck happened at around 12:02 a.m. Saturday, December 17, on South First Street in front of Ralph & Kacoos and Cotton Patch.

Authorities said Tyler Lewis, 17, of Jasper, was driving a white 2006 Honda Accord southbound on South First Street when he made a sudden lane change left into the path of a 2022 Ford Bronco driven by Michael Allman, 24, of Lufkin.

The Accord was struck from behind by the Bronco. The impact caused both vehicles to spin into the median. The Bronco then hit a light pole.

Three passengers in the Accord, Anastasia Gray, 19, of Carthage, Xzavien Grimble, 20, of Jasper, and Antownique Robertson, 18, of Carthage, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers in the Accord, Jackson and Brown, were airlifted to a Tyler hospital in critical condition while the sixth passenger, Omorian Lewis, was treated and released at a local hospital.

Neither Lewis nor his passengers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Lewis was taken into custody after being treated and released at a local hospital. He was awaiting three counts of intoxication manslaughter charges with additional charges pending at the Angelina County Jail.

Lewis was released from the Angelina County Jail on Monday after posting a bond of $150,000.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
