Two Killed in Hillsboro Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 171 at CR 3131

Hillsboro, Texas (March 8, 2021) – Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash east of Hillsboro, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash was reported around 2:06 a.m., March 7, on SH 171 at CR 3131.

DPS said a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound when it crashed into the side of a truck tractor semi-trailer while it was turning left.

The impact caused the Camaro to catch fire.

The Chevrolet driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released.

The driver of the semi-trailer was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
