Man Dies, Woman Hospitalized after Houston Crash on North Freeway near West Road

 Houston, Texas (June 25, 2019) – A man was killed and a woman was injured early Tuesday morning in a traffic accident in Houston, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash happened at around midnight in the northbound lanes of the North Freeway near West Road.

According to police, a sedan was traveling in the northbound lanes when it stopped in traffic for unknown reasons. A man inside the car got out to check on the vehicle.

While he was outside of the car, a northbound SUV struck him and pinned him under the SUV.  The SUV also struck his car, causing it to burst into flames.

The man died at the scene. A woman in that car was also transported to a hospital with burn wounds and is expected to survive.

The female driver of the SUV stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It’s undetermined if she was driving under the influence.

The crash remains under investigation.
