Ray Vanderslice Killed and Eliseo Campos Injured in Upton County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 349

Upton County, Texas (March 31, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Upton County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on March 28, on SH 349, eight miles north of Rankin.

Authorities said a Mack truck had come to a complete stop while making a turn when it was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Ray Vanderslice, 60, of Colorado City.

Vanderslice was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Mack truck driver, Eliseo Campos, was taken to Rankin County hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
