Rene Ramos Killed in Car Accident on I-37 in Corpus Christi

Rene Ramos ID’d as Man Killed in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash on I-37 near Rand Morgan
Corpus Christi, Texas (April 11, 2019) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Corpus Christi has been identified as 50-year-old Rene Ramos of Bishop, according to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal crash happened on Saturday, April 6, on I-37 off Rand Morgan.
Police said Ramos was driving northbound when his car was rear-ended by a truck driven by 18-year-old Grayson Salas. The impact caused Ramos to lose control of his car and crash into the center median.
Ramos was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital where he later died.
According to witnesses, Salas had been speeding and was weaving in and out of traffic before the crash. He was arrested for intoxication assault with a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance but his charges will now be upgraded to intoxicated manslaughter.
The police are investigating the crash.
