Rigoberto Fernandez Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on CR 1050 in Midland County
Rigoberto Fernandez ID’d as Man Killed in Midland County Crash on CR 1050 at FM 307
Midland County, Texas (December 8, 2022) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man who died on Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Midland County as Rigoberto Eduardo Fernandez, 47, of Tampa.
The deadly crash occurred at about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, on CR 1050 at FM 307.
DPS said Fernandez was driving a Freightliner truck hauling trailer northbound on CR 1050 when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at FM 307.
The Freightliner then collided with a Kenworth truck with a trailer, driven by a 46-year-old man from Coahoma.
Fernandez, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Kenworth was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in stable condition. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
No other details regarding the crash were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
