Andrea Matthews Killed in Salado Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 2484

Salado, Texas (October 28, 2020) – A woman was killed in a head-on collision Tuesday morning west of Salado, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 a.m., October 27, on FM 2484.

Authorities said Andrea Matthews, 55, of Salado, was driving a 2016 Lexus NX2 SUV eastbound on the highway while a 36-year-old Granger man was driving a 2017 Ford F-550 utility truck westbound.

The Lexus crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the utility truck.

Matthews was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver and his male passenger sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
