Rosbel Tamez ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Crash on East Riverside Drive Crash

Austin, Texas (February 27, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Austin late Thursday night has been identified as Rosbel Tamez, 64, according to the Austin Police Department.
The crash happened just before midnight February 21, on East Riverside Drive, just east of SH 71.
Police said Tamez was trying to cross the street when a gray 2017 Jeep Patriot struck him.
Tamez was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the driver was at the scene when the investigators arrived.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
