Scott Allan Roode, Trissta Leeann Hepting Injured in Fatal Harrison County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 80

Harrison County, Texas (October 27, 2020) – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Harrison County, just east of Marshall, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 1:30 p.m., October 25, on U.S. 80.

DPS said Gilford Leon Nugent III, 40, of Marshall, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on the highway when he crossed over the center stripe in a curve and struck an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado towing a travel trailer.

Nugent was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, Scott Allan Roode, 33, and his passenger, Trissta Leeann Hepting, 31, both of Wichita, Kansas, were taken to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
