Sesinna Kahsay ID’d as Girl Killed in Fort Bend County Pedestrian Crash at Bissonnet and Hodges Bend

Fort Bend County, Texas (June 26, 2019) – The girl who died at the hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday in Fort Bend County has been identified as Sesinna Kahsay, 8, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred on Thursday, June 20, in the area of Bissonnet and Hodges Bend.

Deputies said the driver, identified as Angela Smith, 38, ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit the Kahsay near Hodges Bend Middle School on the Four Corners area.

Smith fled the scene after the accident.

Kahsay was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was pronounced deceased on Saturday.

The deputies on Friday afternoon located Smith and the vehicle, a dark gray Nissan Altima, in the area of Edgewood Park at Bellfort and Southpark.

Smith was taken into custody and she reportedly confessed to be the driver who fled the scene after hitting the girl.

Smith was charged with failure to stop and render aid in the second degree.

The crash is under investigation.
