Several Injured in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 290 near 34th Street

Houston, Texas (March 29, 2021) – Several people, including a 6-year-old, were injured Sunday night in a chain-reaction crash in Houston, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m., March 28, on U.S. 290, near West 34th Street.

Authorities said a driver stopped to check on a fallen mattress and was rear-ended by another vehicle. Another vehicle occupied by a woman and her four children also stopped and was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The woman and her children, ages 5 to 9, were taken to the hospital for treatment. A 6-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He was unrestrained at the time of the crash.

The passengers in the other vehicles were not seriously injured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
