Sgt. Kaila Sullivan Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run Accident on San Sebastian Court

Houston, Texas (December 13, 2019) – A Nassau Bay police officer was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident in Houston, according to the police.

The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. December 10, in the 2000 block of San Sebastian Court.

Police said a group of officers was attempting to arrest Tavores Dewayne Henderson, 21, who was wanted on a warrant related to a domestic violence case. During the stop, Henderson managed to wrestle free from officers, got back into his car and then struck Sgt. Kaila Sullivan, 43, as he drove away.

Sullivan was rushed to HCA-Houston Clear Lake Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.  She was a 16-year veteran.

Henderson is now facing a felony murder charge in Sullivan’s death. The authorities are still looking for him.
