Sharla Crain Killed in Angelina County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 69

Angelina County, Texas (November 8, 2019) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Angelina County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:35 p.m., November 7, on US 69, south of Huntington.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2017 Chevrolet SUV, driven by Sharla Crain, 47, of Huntington, was heading northbound on the highway when it crossed over into the southbound lane. The Chevrolet was then hit by a 2012 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer driven by Bill Whitfield, 31, of McAlester, Oklahoma.

Crain was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whitfield sustained minor injuries in the crash.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
